#MindfulMay – Day 18

Apparently, us Brits love a queue. I am not so sure. I think if it was an Olympic event, we would surely get gold. Although, just because we are good at it, does not mean we love it. I had the perfect opportunity for today’s #MindfulMay challenge. Queueing to order my full English breakfast.

Hunger is like a switch for me. I go from not hungry to ravenous faster than a teenage boy closes his laptop when his Mom walks in. Let’s just say I am not at my most patient waiting for food. It’s a small café, so a queue of 4 or 5 people leaves you at the entrance door.

I focussed on my breath. I noticed I was breathing through my right nostril, quite quickly. It was impossible to not smell the bacon cooking, surely one of the finest fragrances ever. It didn’t help with my hunger, but it did make me smile. I focussed back on my breath. In no time at all, it was my turn. I ordered, sat down and returned to my breath, well the smell of bacon.

Did you manage to tackle the day 18 challenge? Are you also a bacon fan?

Be happy, healthy and helpful

Paul
