Breathing forms the main part of my daily meditation practice. Most days I get 30 minutes done. This morning Oscar decided to join me on the mat…

I found the dispersed short sessions throughout the day very different to my usual practice. Not good, or bad, just different. In busier periods it was a real challenge to quiet the internal chatter for even just a minute. I dealt with it in my usual way. I watch/listen to the chatter. Decide if I want to sit with it. If not, I thank myself for it. Then focus back on my breath, usually the sensation of it moving through my nostril(s). Sometimes if it’s a real struggle I close my eyes. It helps me focus on the breath more easily. Only for three breaths though. Otherwise I can get sleepy quite quickly.
This practice is something that I will be keeping from #MindfulMay. I found it enjoyable and grounding. Some “bite-size pieces” of mindfulness throughout the day is the way forward for me. How was your day 7 of #MindfulMay? How many sessions did you manage to get in?
Be happy, healthy and helpful
