Making a love note for yourself is a genius idea! If you have not done this challenge yet, then please stop reading this and go do it now. If you haven’t done any of the other #MindfulMay challenges, then give this one a go. Remember nobody else needs to hear it, you can keep it to yourself.
Self-confidence and self-image are not particularly big issues for me. But like everyone, I have my insecurities and self-doubt. It is a bit like fear. Nobody is without fear, it’s just that some can overcome their fears. I am not sure whether the fear of making the recording was worse or playing it back. None-the-less I have done both.
I started very slow. It took me a few minutes to get into a flow. I will not bore you with the contents, but there were a few things that leapt out to me on the first playback. Firstly, I said nothing about my physical appearance or body. I do appreciate it, but it didn’t come up. Secondly, towards the end, I was starting to caveat my statements. I think this plays back to insecurities and self-doubt I mentioned earlier. Finally, I noticed I said a lot about my relationships with other people, some general and some specifics. I am sure there will be more to extract from listening again. Possibly even more from doing the whole challenge again, which I will be doing…
